Welcome to your community of learners.  Our Juniors 11P classes are dynamic classes in which students will invest their time in critical thinking, close reading, essay writing, research, Socratic dialogue, and debate.  I look forward to a successful year.  I hope guardians reach out on a regular basis to see how their students are doing and let me know how best I can support their students.  I also hope we can build a strong community around which post-high school planning is key.  I want my students to invest time and energy not only in planning for their future but also in diving in to their passions and interests as they align with their potential career and college choices.  Together, we can make a difference and build our students potential in ways that make them not only self-advocating individuals but also willful participants in society.

Anecdotal information: I love engaging students in critical debate! My goal is to help students develop critical thinking skills so that they feel empowered and so that they become actively engaged citizens. I want my students to always be open minded and ask questions, to be philosophers and truth seekers.  I embrace cultures and like to live with compassion and understanding for all groups. I believe reading helps build empathy and helps create bridges among groups, and I want to inspire that understanding in my students.  I have a mixed-culture family: Nigerian and American.  I enjoy it to the fullest and make sure my three year old embraces both "worlds."

My greatest joys are: teaching and having a family!
