Jill Barbosa

Welcome to my staff page! I teach Health, a subject I am passionate about.  This page will allow students and their families access helpful information about my class, assignments, and expectations.  I believe strongly that communication between home and school is key in student success.  I encourage both students and parents to contact me with any questions you have or just to begin direct communication with me.  I look forward to working with you in making this a successful school year!

Degree(s): BA History

Major(s): History

Graduate College(s):  SFSU

Subjects Taught: Health, Peer Assistance, and Link Crew co-coordinator.

Anecdotal information: Both of my parents graduated from Hayward High. I went to elementary schools in Hayward and then moved to Castro Valley in 6th grade. I didn't think I was smart enough to go to college until a teacher my senior year told me I should try. I ended up graduating from UC Berkeley with a 3.8 GPA. Now I know, it's not about being born 'smart', but having dreams and goals you are willing to work hard towards. I am here to help all of my students reach their goals!

Other teacher credentials and degrees: National Board Certification, Health, Multiple Subject, Spanish Bilingual Credential. Single Subject Social Studies. Single Subject Health.

Awards: HHS Hero Award, 2011
