Mary Walsh

I am currently teaching Algebra Support, Algebra 2 and PreCalculus.  I am the Mathematics Department Chairperson.   I have been teaching in Hayward Unified School District for over 30 years.  My favorite part of being a Mathematics teacher is making mathematics interesting and accessible to students by providing engaging hands-on activities and showing students how mathematics is an important part of their lives both now and in the future.

I expect students to actively participate in lectures, discussions, group activities and projects.  I maintain the highest academic expectations for all of my students and provide different methods for students to learn, retain and apply the concepts they have learned.  Every week I offer office hours for students to ask questions, make up late work or talk about grades.  My office hours are during lunch or by appointment.

Students are given weekly quizzes and are tested cumulatively.  They are expected to review content and standards on a consistent basis.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
