Kaylin Laine

Hello, my name is Kaylin Laine. I teach 9th grade Health/CSI and Leadership in Classroom K-5. I am also the Activities Director at HHS. This is my second year at HHS and I'm excited to continue to be a part of the Hayward High community.

I have a background in health through teaching and in the professional field. I have been teaching health for three years and working in the emergency department at Kaiser Permanente as a receptionist for the past nine years. I have also spent time in the Health Education department at Kaiser and have a mother who is a nurse so I have many experiences in health care. In regards to my background in leadership, I have been working at Camp RYLA 5170  for the past ten years as a counselor and speech and debate workshop facilitator. This is my second year in the position of Activities Director and being involved in leadership in a high school setting and am very excited to continue to participate in HHS traditions while bringing new ideas and energy to the Hayward High community,

It is my goal, as a teacher, to provide engaging lessons and activities to your student each day. My course pages that are linked to this website allow you to follow what we do in class each day,  see when assignments are due, and access the content materials your student needs in order to stay current with assignments when absent. Please look around; especially at  the link for Parent Connect to Zangle. From there you can access my grade book and see your student's current progress this marking period. If you have any questions please email me at
